We Finally Have A Close-Up Of Jason Pierre-Paul’s Hand, And It Looks Mangled

It’s been a long road for Jason Pierre-Paul since July when he infamously blew part of his hand off in a fireworks accident, but now it finally appears he is ready to play again, as he told members of the media Friday: “It’s not about me anymore. I’m here to play football.”

Unfortunately for Pierre-Paul, it is still sorta about him, as everyone is still curious of what exact condition his hand is in now, and how it’s going to affect his ability to be the player he was before the injury.

We’ve seen photos up to this point of JPP’s hand, but nothing really all that definitive and close-up, that is until now, thanks to the Associated Press.

Pleasant and mild NSFW warning here for the squeamish among you:

Yup… that’s just about as gross as I thought it would be, and I think I probably could have gotten through the day just fine without looking at it.

Regarding whether or not his missing fingers will actually make a difference in his ability to sack the quarterback is a whole different story, and it’s not really going to be known for sure one way or the other until he suits up on Sunday for the Giants’ game against New Orleans.

Still, though, that’s gross.
