‘South Park’ Tackled The Colin Kaepernick National Anthem Controversy As Only It Can

Twitter

South Park (yes, it is still on the air and it is still great, so shut up), delivered its commentary on the Colin Kaepernick national anthem protest story this week, and because this show is the best, it also roasted J.J. Abrams for being the content aggregator of the movie world, making it perhaps the greatest episode in the show’s history.

If you’re wondering how a post that is content aggregation can laugh about something else that’s content aggregation, that’s for you to reconcile.

To solve the anthem problem, Abrams is enlisted to “reboot” the Star-Spangled banner by slightly tweaking the song you’ve known and loved for years. In Abrams’ “vision” of the anthem, you can honor America by standing, kneeling or sitting, thus throwing Kaepernick and Mr. Garrison’s protest out of whack.
