We’re a week removed from the big Conor McGregor / UFC confrontation that resulted in McGregor getting pulled from his fight with Nate Diaz at the promotion’s big UFC 200 card. And while it looks like the UFC has made its peace with Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier as the card’s new headlining fight, Conor still seems hung up on losing the Nate Diaz fight.

On Sunday morning, he made a post on his Instagram with highlights from the Diaz fight and the caption “Nobody gives a fuck about these other fights until this one is settled. Cut the bullshit. Run it back. #RealFight.” The ‘other’ fights he’s talking about? Probably UFC president Dana White’s assertion that McGregor’s next fight would be a featherweight title defense against the winner of Frankie Edgar vs Jose Aldo.

There is some hope that perhaps the UFC will rebook McGregor vs Diaz. Shortly after taking McGregor off UFC 200, White said Conor could appear on UFC 201 or 202. That’s too soon for the winner of Edgar vs Aldo to face him, so dropping the Diaz fight in there makes sense. But it’s worth noting that UFC heads White, the Fertittas, and matchmaker Joe Silva all disliked the Diaz match and only agreed to book it because McGregor insisted. Are Conor’s insisting days behind him now? We’ll have to wait and see if he gets this fight he wants back.
