Conor McGregor Adds Fuel To His Floyd Mayweather Fire By Saying ‘I Run Boxing’

It’s been a few days since we’ve had any kind of an update on the potential superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. The last time we checked in on things, it sounded like McGregor was interested in working on his ability as a boxer, as he reached out to legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach.

Whether he’s training with Roach or someone else, no one knows. But it sounds like either: A) McGregor is training in the ring and things are going well, or B) he is beyond confident in how quickly he’ll pick up boxing once he starts training. That’s because McGregor sent out a tweet on Saturday in which he talked about the pull that he already has over the boxing world even though he hasn’t had a single fight.

As for Mayweather’s side of things, he sat down for an interview with SHOWTIME Sports and, uh, didn’t exactly try slow down the rumors of a potential boxing vs. MMA superfight with McGregor.

“Do I think the fight will happen?” Mayweather asked. “Absolutely.”

Mayweather did mention that this fight would have to be a boxing match, which could explain McGregor’s tweet that came out a few hours later.

It really does sound like both guys are up for this fight. Or they’re just really good at teasing fans and making them want something that will never happen. Either scenario is plausible. Either way, these two should get in the ring, like, yesterday.
