Cubs Player Munerori Kawasaki Hilariously Sung An Aerosmith Classic At Spring Training

The Chicago Cubs are expected to be one of the best teams in baseball this season, and are probably the favorites to win the National League with the Mets, Dodgers, Cardinals, Pirates, and Nationals hot on their heels coming into the year.

Based off of this video, though, it doesn’t appear as though the lofty expectations and the 108-year championship drought are having too much of an effect on Joe Maddon’s club. The team was seen warming up in Japanese headbands and listening to songs like “Kung Foo Fighting” and “I’m Turning Japanese” at the team’s spring training in Arizona.

The Japanese themed warm-up was inspired by Cubs infielder Muneori Kawasaki and his karaoke performance of the Aerosmith classic “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” earlier in the day. Kawasaki may not have the greatest voice in the world, but at least he went all out with his performance and his teammates loved it. It probably helped that the 34-year-old has done this before, as he previously serenaded Toronto fans with “O Canada” while he was a member of the Blue Jays.

Kawasaki’s choice of song is a little bit surprising at first until you learn that he told CSN Chicago that his favorite movie is Armageddon and he’s seen it an insane 33 times. Hey, Muneori, you know there are like, other movies that are better than Armageddon, right?
