Watch The Moment Daniel Fells Returned To His Family After Being Hospitalized With MRSA

Finally some heartwarming news for New York Giants tight end Daniel Fells, who has been in the hospital for weeks after doctors discovered he had contracted MRSA. Fells was placed on the season-ending IR by the Giants on October 5. His fight to stay healthy and return to the field instead quickly became a dangerous fight for his foot and even his life. Fells was in severe danger of losing his foot, and, according to Ian Rapoport, the infection even managed to reach his lungs, but doctors were able to get the infection under control. He’s had at least seven surgeries on his foot by now, but most importantly, he still has it, and it looks like he’s going to keep it.

Three weeks after being admitted to the hospital, Fells finally was healthy enough to be released with an optimistic prognosis, and when he returned home, he released a wonderful video showing his children reacting to his return. Fells has a long way to go and will likely never see the field again, but for now, things are finally looking up.
