Did Aaron Rodgers Take A Shot At Russell Wilson Here?

Hot damn, Aaron Rodgers. That’s pure fire, sir.

The Packers quarterback was asked about the team’s preparation following a 27-17 victory over the Seahawks on Sunday night. He responded in kind with, “I get it all from God. I think God was a Packers fan tonight, so he was taking care of us.”

Now yes, it’s possible Rodgers was being serious here. Maybe he, too, believes God works in mysterious ways. However, it’s more likely that Rodgers was taking a shot at Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, an outspoken believer in God having control over the outcome of games.

Here’s a comment he made after the NFC Championship:

“That’s God setting it up, to make it so dramatic, so rewarding, so special,”

And another after the Super Bowl:

“The play happens, and they pick the ball off. And I take three steps. And on the third step, God says to me, ‘I’m using you… I want to see how you respond. But most importantly, I want them to see how you respond.'”

When asked about those comments in the offseason, Rodgers replied that he didn’t think God “was a big football fan.”

So yeah, there you have it. Rodgers maybe took a shot at Russell Wilson and did so with a straight face. This rivalry is fun.
