Dorial Green-Beckham wanted to wear Yeezy cleats on the field so badly he made up a charity to do it.

The NFL’s #MyCleatsMyCause campaign was supposed to let players wear custom cleats to support causes they feel strong personal attachment to and not get fined. The Philadelphia Eagles wideout got fined anyway.

Green-Beckham was fined $6,076 for wearing “unapproved cleats” in a 32-14 win over the Cincinnati Bengals because his cause isn’t real.

Players across the league took part in the My Cause, My Cleats campaign in Week 13 in which they wore designer cleats that helped promote charities and social issues that they care about.

Green-Beckham wore a pair of cleats from Kanye West’s Yeezy brand and said they were in the name of “the Yeezy Foundation,” which apparently does not exist.

Here’s a shot of Green-Beckham wearing his Yeezys, in case you’re not sure what all the hype is about.

A handful of NFL players have worn the multicolored Adidas cleats before or during games this year. including DeAndre Hopkins and Von Miller. The NFL has essentially banned the cleats, but they’re getting so much hype Adidas considered paying league fines for players that get tagged for sporting the kicks.

NFL players are always getting fined, but cleats have become an odd point of contention between players and the Shield this season. DeSean Jackson wore custom cleats to protest police brutality against people of color in October. That seems like a much better reason to get fined than just… really wanting to wear some shoes designed by Kanye West.
