‘The Mountain’ From ‘Game Of Thrones’ Barely Lost The World’s Strongest Man Competition

Hafthor Bjornsson, known lovingly by fans of Game of Thrones as The Mountain, a man who can chop horses in half with a single swing of his blade, lost the World’s Strongest Man competition this weekend due to a non-rep (called a double dip by the ref) that Bjornsson is claiming was completely fair. This is leading the monstrous man to somehow navigate his sausage fingers to type out this frustrated response on Instagram, which he has since deleted:

“This weekend I was robbed. The integrity of my beloved sport is in question.”

While Bjornsson wants to unofficially call himself the Wold’s Strongest Man, the 2017 title belongs to Britain’s incredible Eddie Hall, who had one more rep than Bjornsson (and actually cheered on Bjornsson to beat him in the video). Calmer heads seemed to prevail (and his appeal was rejected), so Bjornsson wrote a more measured response on Instagram to follow up on his frustration:

“Really proud of my effort in the Viking Press at The Worlds Strongest Man. I completed 15 reps but the referee took the last rep away from me. They say I double dipped. This would have been equal first place with Eddie Hall, which would have scored me one point higher. I know it’s only one point, but sometimes one point can change the game completely.”

It’s good that Bjornsson has calmed down. Look at how big this man is. The lady next to him is so in awe of his lats she’s uncomfortable (I assume):

He isn’t a guy you want angry. He probably eats bicycles and lifts houses off their foundation to blow off steam. Luckily, Bjornsson knows that he’s only 28 years old, has finished in the top 3 six times, and has come in second twice. He’s almost there.
