Manny Pacquiao And Oscar De La Hoya Beautifully Trolled Floyd Mayweather During His ‘Last Fight’

Floyd Mayweather had yet another marvelous, ho-hum, put fans to sleep kind of fight at the MGM Saturday night, defeating the venerable Andre Berto in a unanimous decision. The victory tied Mayweather with boxing great Rocky Marciano at 49-0. Of course the question now becomes, “is Floyd done?”

He put to rest (no he didn’t) all doubt as to whether he would continue his career in a post-match interview saying: “My career is over. It’s official.” He continued to blabber about stepping away from boxing to “spend time with his family.” Which, sure Floyd. That’s fine. You do that man. Because when I think of Floyd Mayweather, I think of a stay-at-home family man who posts pics of his kids at the park and at Chuck-E-Cheese and stuff. Yeah, OK.

Moving on…

During the fight, Floyd’s old nemesis Manny Pacquaio weighed-in with a subtle dig on Instagram. “What I do when I’m bored. Hehe.”

To be clear, “hehe” is used by adults to convey that they’re laughing at something in a childish way. Also, when you’re clearly trolling someone on line. But I digress.

Manny wasn’t the only boxer taking jabs at Mayweather during the fight. The Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya also shared his thoughts on social media.

And delivered this knockout blow.

Is De La Hoya ripping on himself here? Or is he not included in this era? Boxing logic is confusing, I know. I’ve been trying to understand it for the better part of twenty years. Floyd too, has been trying to understand it but we lack pop-up books with explanations.

Anyway, Mayweather will fight again and it will probably be Manny Pacquiao. It gives him the best opportunity for a huge payday and in the end that’s all either of them are looking for. 50-0 looks nice. So, too, does $200 million in the bank.
