Fox is bringing back streaming for NFL games this season, joining CBS and other providers in an effort to expand the amount of people who can enjoy the games when they’re not around their TV screens. It’s never been easier to watch the NFL (or more controlled, thanks to the numerous deals and blackout restrictions that are still out there).
The only problem with the Fox streaming — apart from it only covering 104 games — is it is connected to your cable subscription, so it is limiting those folks who want to cut the cord. Here’s who can take advantage, according to Engadget:
You’ll need a cable subscription to get in on the action. This is the second year that Fox will stream NFL games though the streaming app that’s available to customers of Comcast, Cox, Charter, AT&T U-Verse, Time Warner Cable, DirecTV, Verizon FiOS and others. What’s more, thanks to NFL restrictions, you won’t be able to stream games to your phone from Fox Sports Go, so you’ll have to employ those other devices (if you’re paying for TV, of course).
Now all of this is meaningless if you enjoy the company of the public or utilize those “unsavory” means to watch your favorite team play. Or maybe you just like to watch the Red Zone channel, which plenty of folks do. It’s much better than putting up with whatever yokel they pay to say what the team needs to do to win the game.
