Florida State slowly marched down the field with less than a minute left to deliver the game-winning dagger against the over-matched Georgia Tech team. All they needed was a 56-yard field goal. At the very least, they just needed for the kick to not get blocked and the better team would prevail in overtime.

But the kick got blocked.

Then sophomore defensive back Lance Austin scooped up the live ball and, behind a parade of blockers, returned the ball 78-yards for an improbable game-winning touchdown, ending Georgia Tech’s five-game losing streak and handing FSU their first loss of the season in the process.
