In case you missed it, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers forgot they were supposed to play a professional football game tonight against the Atlanta Falcons. I can only assume that team leadership grabbed a couple of hobos from the local trainyard, fitted them for pads and shoved them out there to back quarterback Josh McCown. He ended up getting hurt and the team was thumped up and down the field.
No one told the team’s social media and Twitter feeds to stop Tweeting though. Much like the band that played as the Titanic sunk, our valiant social media baron continued to send out updated Tweets like this:
ATL 56, TB 0
Smith with a 38-yard run
DRIVE: 5 plays, 80 yards in 3:12#TBvsATL— Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@Buccaneers) September 19, 2014
Now it could very well be some sort of algorithm automation behind the entire thing, but it’s funnier to think that there is an actual person slaving away behind this miserable sh*t of a game. People certainly believed there was and they tweeted their frustration out to them all evening.
Between that and the shock that someone would still be live Tweeting such a drubbing, it makes for an entertaining read. Far more entertaining than what you were seeing on the field (unless you’re a Falcons fan). I’ve collected a few of the betters I caught on a few passes through, but I’d go over to the page and check the rest out if you’re interested.
