Weightlifter Holley Mangold Did Her Own Version Of The Box Jump

The box jump has taken on a life of its own ever since Houston Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt did one measuring 5-foot-1 in April. From the NBA’s Brandon Knight to Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman, plenty of athletes have been showing their ups on social media. Putting her own spin on the jump was Olympic weightlifter Holley Mangold, who actually did hers from the sitting position — and finished with a beautiful flop.

Mangold was a member of the 2012 Olympic team and a former contestant on The Biggest Loser. Her brother, Nick, is a center for the New York Jets. Of all the box jump videos out there, Mangold’s might be the best. Jumping five feet-plus in the air from the standing position is cool and all, but not as cool making light of the people who do it.
