Patrick Kane Was Robbed Of His 39th Goal Thanks To This Brilliant Stick Save By Jake Allen

Jake Allen had himself quite a game on Wednesday night against the Blackhawks. Not only did the Blues goaltender make 33 saves in a shutout win on national television, one of those saves came in spectacular fashion to rob the league’s leading scorer.

Chicago winger Patrick Kane looked to be in great position to bury a backhander on the doorstep, which would have given him his 39th goal and 90th point on the season. Allen was positioned at the top of his crease and had a wide open net behind him, but the St. Louis netminder contorted his body to reach back and deny the opportunity with the paddle of his stick. It was a sick stop, and one that helped the Blues take two much-needed points against a conference rival in the Blackhawks.

As for Allen, he’s putting together a great season in net for the Blues, and this is just the latest in an impressive bunch of gorgeous robberies he’s made this year.
