Jerry Jones Perfectly Sums Up The Awful NFC East In One Quote

The NFC East was a bad division in 2015. You don’t need us to tell you that. Fans of those four teams witnessed perhaps the worst football the division has ever put together collectively. Only the Redskins were able to rise above it, push through to the playoffs with a 9-7 record. The Cowboys, Eagles and Giants on the other hand were nothing short of awful, fumbling and bumbling their way to 17 total wins. The Cowboys brought up the rear at 4-12, a lost season with injuries galore and the distraction of one, Greg Hardy.

On Tuesday, the always talkative Jerry Jones was asked about the Cowboys potential going into the 2016 season. He didn’t hold back, uttering a line only a man of Jones’ stature could produce.

“I’m looking up, on my back, and all I see is ass.”

Okay, tell us how you really feel, Jerry. To be fair, the Cowboys have a decent stable of talent and, when healthy, arguably the best WR in football with Dez Bryant. Combine that with a healthy Tony Romo, and maybe, just maybe, Dallas can return to the playoffs.

“I do see opportunity, though,” Jones said, despite his team’s record in 2015. “But I want a different view and that will ring and intertwine through every meeting, every personal visit I have with everybody involved with the Cowboys. I want to see a different look.”

This is likely a do or die year for head coach Jason Garrett, the heir apparent who has only produced one playoff appearance in six seasons. Another losing campaign and good ol’ Jerry is handing him walking papers.
