John Oliver stopped by The Late Show last night, and it was predictably great because he’s as good a talk show guest as he is a faux news show host. The conversation turned to just how exactly the English soccer/football system works, and in doing so David Letterman transformed into every sports-loving American who can’t quite get their head around how the Premier League operates.
Thanks to a mixture passion, humor, hopelessness, and Downton Abbey references, it’s all pretty much an abbreviated Last Week Tonight segment. “Roll the clip” is my new go-to segue away from me being confused by the subject at hand.
