The #2 ranked Duke Blue Devils fell from the list of remaining unbeaten teams in College Basketball on Sunday following an 87-75 upset loss to NC State. Afterwards, Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried got a little handsy with Coach K during the postgame handshake. Thankfully I call myself an expert lip-reader, so I will do my best to figure out what was said by Coach Gott during the exchange.
“That was a great game, Coach. Your kids displayed great team spirit throughout, but I would expect nothing less from your program. It’s a shame you’re no longer unbeaten, but I’m confident your team will rebound as you always do in the face of adversity. I wish you good luck the rest of the way in the ACC, except against us of course. LOL. See you soon. You have a beautiful behind.”
I applaud the sportsmanship.
Duke fell to 14-1 (2-1 ACC) on the season while NC State improved to 12-5 (3-1).
