The Patriots won’t play their first playoff game until next weekend thanks to a first round bye, but New England already has its very own Star Wars-inspired hype video to get them ready for another potential deep postseason run. We probably should have seen this coming – Star Wars is hotter than ever at the moment – and this will probably be one of the first of many, but it’s a decent effort nonetheless.
Some of the narration doesn’t quite fit (I’m not sure whether Tom Brady is Rey or Kylo Ren in this scenario) but there are certain points where the execution is pretty superb – probably none more than when Roger Goodell’s face flashes on screen when the Dark Side is mentioned. That being said, it seems like quite the misfire when you make a Star Wars-themed Patriots montage and Bill Belichick isn’t a Sith Lord. Just saying.
