The Giants Watched The Kangaroo Punching Video For Inspiration Before Taking On Dallas

By now, everyone has seen the video of the dude saving his dog from a kangaroo by punching the marsupial in the face. Some people are skeptical about whether this is real, but everyone agrees that the whole ordeal was rather bizarre.

For the New York Giants, though, this video is a way to get fired up before the team takes on Dallas on Sunday night. Giants coach Ben McAdoo showed the video to his team, telling the New York Post “We have to stay hungry. We have to be hungry, and it’s time to … it’s time to eat.”

It was certainly a unique motivational technique by McAdoo, mostly because his players didn’t totally understand what was going on. According to Australia native Brad Wing, the point of this was “Just to not be scared, I think that’s what he was going for with that one. Just to rise to the opportunity and just kind of react, just play without thinking too much.” Victor Cruz, meanwhile, thought they watched the video because “Everybody has a plan about what they’re gonna do and how they’re gonna do it until they get punched in the face. And I think that’s what Coach is trying to instill in us, that we need to come out firing, and see how they respond.”

Between this and the whole “trying to ignite the second chapter of the Deflategate saga” thing, it’s been a weird week for the Giants.
