Well, congratulations, you were right: According to smartphone breathalyzer company BACtrack, it’s Bills fans! BACtrack ranked all fanbases based on data generated by their app on Sundays through Week 7 of this season, using Twitter’s map of NFL allegiance. And VinePair put together a handy map with their results:
Yes, surprising exactly no one, Bills fans rate as the drunkest, with an average gameday BAC of 0.076. That means that just barely half of all users of BACtrack in the Buffalo area are fit to drive. Stay safe on those roads up in Buffalo. Philadelphia Eagles fans also rate unsurprisingly high at number three, with notoriously cold and miserable fans of the Lions, Browns and Cardinals (?) rounding out the top five. The Bengals have the most sober of all fanbases ranked. Yeah, I don’t know what to make of that, either.
Omitted from the rankings due to insufficient data are fans of the Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars. The lack of data may come from not having a geographical area to one’s own (Jets and Raiders), or not having a fanbase of one’s own (Jaguars).
