Hockey season is officially upon us, with the NHL having kicked off their regular season earlier this week. With it comes a reminder that hockey is very difficult and a sport takes years and years to master, usually with many trials and tribulations along the way.
If you’re lucky enough, you’re able to avoid the lenses of cameras and video recorders as you encounter the bumps along the way, but not everyone has such luck. Embarrassing moments and gaffs happen at every level of hockey, including the NHL, but — as you’d imagine — often times they’re funnier when they involve younger players who happen to have less refined skills.
That much is seen in the collection of home video fails you see above, which documents some of the less prouder moments in these players’ respective careers. Now, I’m not exactly sure what kind of luck these folks had as they continued playing hockey, but I think it might be safe to say that you won’t be watching any of them take the ice in the NHL this season.
Especially this this kid. I respect his commitment to sportsmanship and the tradition of the handshake line, but form is not his strength.
But still, this video neglects arguably the funniest hockey mishap to happen this century. Say hello to the G.O.A.T.
