The NHL’s New Commercial For The Stanley Cup Final Will Give You Chills

This is the best time of year to be a hockey fan. Both Conference Finals have come down to a Game 7, with the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning duking it out in the East on Friday night, and the Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks facing off on Saturday night. Every team remaining has a legitimate shot at the title, no matter who they face in the Stanley Cup Final.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, the NHL has put together a new commercial in the classic mold of combining slow-motion footage of classic highlights, quiet piano music and a dramatic monologue, and, wouldn’t you know it, the formula still works. This one’s titled “What’s in a Name?” If that sounds overly simplistic to you, just watch.

Most fans will see a moment in this clip that gives them chills. As a Ranger fan, I don’t have to tell you which two seconds are my favorites, but I will still use the excuse to remind people of the last time the Rangers played a Conference Finals Game 7:

Still chills. Every time. What’s your favorite moment from the commercial?
