Nick Young Says The Lakers Were Like ‘Django Unchained’ After Beating The Warriors Without Kobe Bryant

It was probably a trap game for the Golden State Warriors, it was a probably a game they didn’t take too seriously after learning Kobe Bryant would sit out. Whatever the reason, the quote-unquote best team in the NBA fell to the 9-19 Los Angeles Lakers, 115-105.

Unsurprisingly, everyone’s flipping out, everyone’s overreacting to a win over a top team without the Black Mamba. Take it away Nick Young.

“Some guys just played like ‘Django Unchained’ — they were free tonight,” he said.

And what would Young tell Bryant?

“Pretty much going to have to tell Kobe to pass me the ball, pass us the ball,” Young said. “Tell him to take the backseat for a little bit. He can be ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ and I can be Miss Daisy and drive.”

The message to Kobe seems pretty clear—stop shooting the damn ball! He’s leading the league with 22.4 attempts per game. And when you combine that with a career low .372 FG percentage, yeah, Django Unchained makes a whole lot of sense.

I’ve been a Kobe defender for awhile, but at some point he needs to take a step back. At some point he needs to yield some of those shots to Jeremy Lin and Nick Young. I doubt it will happen, mostly because Kobe’s borderline insane, but whatever, let’s just watch the drama unfold.
