When I was in high school, there would almost always be some ugliness between rival high schools. Somebody's school would get egged, then at the game there would be some trash-talking and then people would leave to go get drunk in the cornfields or head to the Steak 'n Shake in the hopes of running into those punks from Belleville East. Those were some tense moments, let me tell you.
But I guess somehow it's a bit more of a spectacle when you get into a huge fight at Madison Square Garden that spills into Times Square. Stupid East Coast bias. Excuuuuuse me if our cornfields don't have neon signs and subway stops.
UPDATE: Bread City was there, and he's got a solid eyewitness report of the goings-on.
