Odell Beckham Jr. Used The Happy Gilmore Swing To Crush Some Dingers

Odell Beckham Jr. is all about doing things unconventionally. Whether it’s absurd one-handed catches he has no business making or hitting softballs using Happy Gilmore swings, the man doesn’t play by your rules.

The New York Giants wide receiver took his talents to Brad Wing’s charity softball home-run derby and smashed a monster home run using the running swing made famous by the Adam Sandler movie. If that wasn’t good enough, he followed it up with a tremendous bat flip that would even make Happy Gilmore smile, all while he had his own ROAR sports drink with his face on it sitting on home plate.

And it wasn’t just a fluke, either. Beckham managed to pull off the feat multiple times. Here’s proof:

That’s some pretty impressive stuff. It’s takes a good combination of of footwork, strength and hand-eye coordination to pull off the Gilmore swing effectively, but we already knew right well that Beckham possesses all of those.

I will say, though, he may have gotten off easy considering there are no evil mechanical clowns in a softball home-run derby.

Now I’m wondering if he can shoot a puck into the goal while listening to “Endless Love” in the dark.
