The Ohio State Buckeyes stand tall at No. 2 in the AP college football poll (and much more importantly, in the Uproxx Sports Power Rankings), but running back Ezekiel Elliot would like to rank No. 1 elsewhere: Taylor Swift’s heart. He took to Twitter to throw a hail-mary request at the pop superstar for a date after her show.

Sadly for Elliot, his dinner offer was promptly shot down by the Buckeyes’ mascot, Brutus, who apparently already has plans with Swift.

Ezekiel isn’t the only member of the Ohio State backfield to use Twitter to court a celebrity. Cardale Jones tweeted out his love and admiration for Ronda Rousey in hopes of a date as well. Rousey and Cardale haven’t gone for ice cream on the boardwalk, but she did respond to his tweets on live television. As for Ezekiel, he’ll have to wait on Taylor to get back to him, if she does at all. Taylor’s relationships don’t have the greatest track record, but I’m sure Elliot doesn’t mind being Swift’s next fixture of heartbreak.
Cardale and Ezekiel are just two college kids shooting their shot with the women of their dreams. Good luck, gentlemen.
