Patrick Kane Saved The Blackhawks’ Playoff Hopes With This Sick Goal In Double-OT

The reigning Stanley Cup champions still have life, and they have Patrick Kane to thank for that.

Kane, the regular season’s leading point-scorer, kept his team’s season alive with a goal in double-overtime of a potential elimination Game 5 on Thursday night. The game-winner was Kane’s first goal of this playoffs and the fifth playoff OT-winner of his career.

The Blackhawks forward managed to dangle around a defender and beat two others as he put the puck on net. Though his first shot was turned away by Blues netminder Brian Elliott, Kane circled around the net for a second chance opportunity and buried the rebound. The goal found it’s way into a mostly open net, as Elliott struggled to get back into position.

As for the Blackhawks, they still have an uphill battle to climb. They’ll head back home to Chicago down 3-2 in the series as they look to fight to keep their title defense alive.
