Peyton Manning ‘Broke Some Fingers’ At Practice In Anger Over Those HGH Accusations

In light of recent reports that he’s received Human Growth Hormone, Peyton Manning is understandably pissed off. But he’s not just working out his aggression in ESPN-supported indignant speeches — he’s also taking it to the practice field.

In an interview with Peter King for MMQB, Manning talked about his state of mind during a throwing session with his receivers on Sunday, saying, “I’m pissed off. I was throwing so hard this morning I think I broke some fingers out there.”

Whoa, easy there, Peyton! Those receivers need those fingers for catching footballs! Of course, he was exaggerating, but maybe he should remember how much his arm strength (or lack thereof) has been the butt of jokes recently. We’re sure that his statement led many Broncos fans to excitedly whisper, “He’s back!” and pump their fists (but not without looking around first, to make sure nobody’s watching), but we’re not sure Manning could break a receiver’s finger without the use of a sledgehammer.

And anyway, if an oft-injured and aging quarterback has an unexpected, late-career revival, it makes one wonder if he’s getting any extra help from an anti-aging clinic, doesn’t it?

I’m KIDDING. Please don’t hurt me, Broncos fans. We’re sure it’s all a misunderstanding.
