Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was placed on the team’s injury list ahead of this Thursday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The official cause of Manning’s appearance on the list is a back injury, per Pro Football Talk. It’s not serious enough that Manning will miss the game, but he was still asked about it by Denver media members on Tuesday. The results were about what you’d expect from Manning.

Which is to say: hilarious.

In addition to noting that he was surprised by it, Manning turned the tables and placed everyone in the room on media injury list. Basically, everyone suffered from carpal tunnel or some sort of beat writer-related injury. (Although, if we’re being harsh but fair, more reporters would get sidelined with foot injuries because tennis shoes and wrinkled khakis are probably going to result in some sort of bodily harm.)

Here’s the text of Manning’s joke from Mile High Report:

I’m gonna put down what I think y’all’s injuries are. Let me start with [KUSA reporter Mike] Klis. The carpal tunnel from all the texting of his sources. Who else? D-Mac [Darren McKee from 104.3 The Fan], the laryngitis from ripping me all week. The rash he has that’s unidentified. The fact that he’s still here every day to overcome that, I think it’s kind of admirable.

You can see video of Manning’s response at about the :50 second mark on the Denver Broncos’ website. Never change, Peyton. Never change.
