If you think the Cincinnati Bengals’ season couldn’t get any sadder, this will teach you to underestimate the Bengals’ ability to embarrass themselves.
One week after choking away a victory at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals reveled in seeing the Steelers lose to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round Sunday. To quickly recap just how bad the Bengals’ loss was:
• Jeremy Hill fumbled with less than two minutes remaining to give the ball to the Steelers when all he had to do was fall down three times to kill almost the entire clock.
• Ben Roethlisberger and his barely functional arm marched the Steelers down the field.
• Vontaze Burfict delivered a hit so dirty that not only did it give the Steelers 15 yards, it got him suspended for three games next season.
• Pacman Jones was so mad that another man spoke to him on the field that he also earned a 15-yard penalty, then later accused Antonio Brown of faking a brain injury after the Burfict hit. Brown did not play in Denver.
Bengals safety George Iloka was thankful to finally receive “closure” from the Steelers loss.
