A Former North Carolina Basketball Player Says He Made The Dean’s List Without Attending Classes

Today, an independent investigation from Department of Justice official Kenneth Wainstein revealed massive academic fraud involving 3100 students at the University of North Carolina. Most of those students were athletes like Rashad McCants, who played on the UNC basketball team from 2002-2005. In an interview with CNN, McCants detailed just some of the stuff that went on. In short, he says he made the Dean’s list despite not attending classes.

CNN: What did you do instead of going to classes?
McCants: Usually, we worked on the playbook, or worked out or usually sleep in until there was practice

Sure, most of this stuff was already known but to hear McCants say it like that? Wow.
