A Red Wings Player Took A Skate Blade To The Face And The Results Were Predictably Gruesome

Red Wings forward Drew Miller took an inadvertent skate blade to the face from Senators winger Mark Stone early in the first period of Detroit’s 2-1 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. The result left Miller with a gruesome cut near his right eye.

After the game, Art Regner of WDFN Sports Radio 1130 tweeted out this picture showing the damage:

Despite the nastiness of that cut, Detroit coach Mike Babcock said after the game that Miller should be available to play on Thursday when the Red Wings host the Boston Bruins.

Of course he should. He’s a hockey player.
