Robert Kraft spent the better part of 6 minutes Wednesday morning blaming the NFL for not acting in good faith during negotiations for Deflategate. It’s as if Kraft felt the league would consider a lesser punishment for Tom Brady when he accepted the deal back in May. At the time, Kraft said he had “respect” for Roger Goodell and added, “He’s doing what he perceives to be in the best interests of [all 32 teams].”

He sang a drastically different tune on Wednesday, following word of Tom Brady’s four-game suspension.

“The decision handed down by the league is unfathomable to me.”
“The league has no hard evidence.”
“I need to apologize to our fans.”
“Unfortunately, I was wrong (to accept punishment).”
“Tom Brady is a person of great integrity.”
“I’ve come to the conclusion that this was never about doing what was fair and just.”
“I was wrong to put my faith in the league.”
“Now, the league has taken this to court. Which is a tactic only a lawyer would recommend.”
“Once again, I want to apologize to the fans of the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.”
“Personally, this is very sad and disappointing.”

If nothing else, these comments put Kraft back in the good graces of Patriots fans, many of whom were upset that Kraft accepted punishment (wrongdoing) in the first place.
