Ronda Rousey Is Training On The Beach Ahead Of Her Much Anticipated UFC Return

Ronda Rousey isn’t expected to step back into the cage for a fight until the UFC’s big Madison Square Garden fight in November. But that doesn’t mean she isn’t already preparing for the fight back in the gym … or on the beach. A ton of people saw Ronda and a whole team of people from the Glendale Fighting Club in the sand yesterday, running sprints, shadowboxing, and working their cardio.

It’s the latest sign that Rousey is getting back into the swing of fighting after a much needed break from the sport. Following her head kick knockout loss to Holly Holm last year, Ronda said it would be months before she was even able to eat an apple, let alone train. Four months later, she posted a video where she munched down on her favorite fruit, and now she’s back to conditioning classes with her coach Edmond Tarverdyan’s gym.

The video of Ronda biting an apple was the first hint that maybe her return might take place in the Big Apple, a.k.a. New York City. Now it’s been all but confirmed, with UFC president Dana White saying Rousey will fight whoever happens to be holding the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. Currently, that’s Miesha Tate, but Tate has to get past Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 in July first if she wants a chance to avenge her two losses from Rousey.
