Soccer Fans Used A Terrifyingly Beautiful ‘Game Of Thrones’ Banner To Intimidate The Opposition

One of the most enduring images in the history of Game of Thrones was [SPOILERS] the Night’s King raising an army of wights from the horde of just-murdered wildlings at the end of the episode titled “Hardhome.” The king’s dead-eyed stare and upturned hands signify to any fans of the show the seemingly hopeless fight the humans have ahead of them whenever the White Walker army decides to properly invade Westeros. (Depending on who you are, it might also remind you of a certain Vincent Price monologue, but we digress.)

That feeling of hopelessness is a good one to cultivate in opponents, so it’s understandable why fans of MLS team Sporting Kansas City raised a tifo (a large decoration held up by many fans at a sporting event) of the Night’s King, accompanied by some intimidating chants, ahead of Sporting’s match against the LA Galaxy on Monday.

The tifo kind of fits with Sporting’s fan section slogan of Welcome to Blue Hell, considering that the concept of hell is a similar one of inevitable and endless doom, but as long as we’re here, we might as well pick nits: What color would a hell of White Walkers be? I think you already know the answer to that question.
