A T-Rex Competed On ‘American Ninja Warrior,’ And It’s As Amazing As You’d Imagine

There was a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, and few dinosaurs were as imposing as the Tyrannosaurus Rex, or the T-Rex, as it liked to be called. The T-Rex reached its pop culture apex when it was featured prominently in Jurassic Park, a movie wherein a T-Rex, amongst other things, eats a lawyer off a toilet. Yes, in prehistoric times, the T-Rex was mighty, and to be feared, but these are modern times. Can a T-Rex survive in the modern world? More importantly: can it compete on America Ninja Warrior?

The answer, somewhat surprisingly, is yes. Okay, so it’s not actually a long extinct dinosaur arising from the grave and tackling a supremely difficult obstacle course. A person in an inflatable Tyrannosaurus Rex costume decided to take on the American Ninja Warrior course in Atlanta. They use their human arms, which, to be fair, is much easier than trying to use the spindly little arms the T-Rex had.

When you first see this goofy looking T-Rex costume, you’re probably just expecting a bit of a laugh as the person flops around and fails on the course. Then the amazing happens. The T-Rex does unexpectedly well, and you’re watching this person in an awkward, ungainly T-Rex costume succeeding at taking on obstacle after obstacle. Suddenly, anything seems possible.

The T-Rex doesn’t manage to complete the course, but that’s okay. It’s still one of the more glorious things you will ever see. And it should inspire you to do great things.
