These Pictures Show The Pure Emotion On Display After Tennessee’s Hail Mary Win Over Georgia

College football’s game of the weekend was the SEC East thriller between Tennessee and Georgia. It looked like the Bulldogs were going to pull off the upset at home, but the Vols got the ball back, and as time expired, Joshua Dobbs lobbed a ball into the end zone. Jauan Jennings came down with said ball, and the Volunteers walked out of Athens with a 34-31 win.

The best part of the game – which says a lot because it was a really good game – were the images that came out after the Vols won. They perfectly encapsulated the joy that comes from winning a game like this, especially the image at the top of the post and this one, which features Volunteers RB Alvin Kamara laying on the ground in disbelief.

No one had more fun celebrating the win than Dobbs (No. 11), which makes sense, because that was one hell of a throw to get the win. After, he looked like he couldn’t believe that he just did something that awesome.

Oh, and on that last one: Tennessee coach Butch Jones also celebrated like crazy after the win. Dude looked like the weight of the world was lifted off his shoulders (which wasn’t the case if only because said weight was lifted off of his shoulders when the Vols beat Florida last week).

The best of these was the embrace between Jones and Jennings, because both guys looked like they were on the verge of tears.

On the other side, Georgia’s Maurice Smith didn’t look angry or anything. Instead he looked shocked, because this was completely absurd.

But above everything else, these pictures show Jennings celebrating like he just won the lottery, mostly because he may never make a bigger play in his football career.

One of the many things that makes college football so great is that the reactions to shocking wins (and losses) are so delightfully authentic. These pictures show that this was the case on Saturday in Georgia.
