The New ‘Game Before The Game’ World Cup Ad From Beats By Dre Is Also Spectacular

If the 2014 FIFA World Cup was simply a contest of advertising, it was already hard enough to pick a favorite between ESPN, Nike and even a smaller company like Cerveza Cristal. Then along comes Beats by Dre, fresh off its ridiculous $3.2 billion sale to Apple, with “The Game Before the Game,” which is definitely the longest of the ads at a cool 5:04. But holy crap, you guys, if you don’t watch this whole thing and suddenly feel like running outside and bench-pressing every car in sight, I don’t know what to tell you. This video is just packed with goosebumps and chills.

The video features Neymar Jr., Bacary Sagna, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Blaise Matuidi, Cesc Fàbregas, Daniel Sturridge, Chicharito, Jozy Altidore, Luis Suárez, Mario Götze, and Robin van Persie, while Neymar da Silva Sr., LeBron James, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rafaella Beckran, Rio Ferdinand, Serena Williams, Sydney Leroux, Stuart Scott, and Thierry Henry also lend their faces so that the point of just how HUGE the World Cup is really driven home. And the song, in case you’re wondering, is “Jungle” by X Ambassadors & Jamie N Commons, and I think the biggest reason I like it is because it’s not “The Man.”
