The media's relentless hype of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry has diminished any pleasure casual fans might have gotten from watching the two most expensive teams in baseball face off, but give credit where it's due: the Sox and Yanks played a hell of a series this weekend. Perhaps I only say that because I get to watch Yankee-fan agony from the Sox' first Fenway sweep of the Yanks in 17 years up close here in New York, but three games decided by a total of four runs tends to be entertaining. As entertaining as baseball gets, anyway.
Especially when a team hits home runs in four consecutive at-bats for only the fifth time in history. It's a lot of fun to watch — even if Joe Morgan is one of the dumbest animals on the planet.
