Todd Gurley Made His Heisman Statement With An Explosive Game Against Clemson

Everyone’s talking about Todd Gurley this morning and for good reason. The Georgia running back’s the clear front-runner for the Heisman after setting the school record with 293 all-purpose yards against Clemson. Gurley also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the second quarter.

After the game, Georgia coach Mark Richt called Gurley the best player in America. Hard to argue when you look at the numbers from the game.

-15 carries for 198 yards
-17.2 yards per touch
-293 all-purpose yards (breaking Rodney Hampton’s Georgia record from 1987)
-4 touchdowns (3 rushing, 1 kickoff)

Here’s a Todd Gurley highlight compilation from the game.
