Good news, Monday Night Football fans! Tony Kornheiser will be back next season.
[ESPN] plans to have analyst Tony Kornheiser back in 2007. And Kornheiser is all for it. Early yesterday, he told Newsday, "If they would like to have me back, my inclination is that I would like to do it again."
… Kornheiser admitted the Monday night job was an adjustment. "I don't think that anybody is going to send my tapes to Canton for imminent enshrinement," he said. "I would like to be better at it and I think I can be and I'd like to do it again."
All season long critics panned Kornheiser's work on MNF, and there was a lot of speculation about whether or not he'd be back next season.
But the real question is this: why wasn't there speculation Joe Theismann wouldn't return. Man that guy sucks hard. It's like listening to somebody's bitchy, dumb girlfriend call a game. And you can't even justify it by saying, "Well, at least ESPN is getting hot sex." Seriously, if they just want someone with broad shoulders and great hair, I'm available, and I don't cry when somebody criticizes a professional athlete.
