Travis Kelce Blasted The Refs After Kansas City’s Loss Instead Of Blaming Himself

Tight end Travis Kelce, who is not Rob Gronkowski, directed his anger outward Sunday after the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 18-16 in their divisional round matchup. Was the anger pointed at coach Andy Reid and his inexplicable use of a timeout on the Chiefs’ final drive? Or his defense’s inability to thwart the Steelers between the 20s?

Nope. It was directly at referee Gerry Cheffers for throwing a flag on a successful two-point conversion by the Chiefs that would have tied the game late. Eric Fisher was called for holding James Harrison, the Chiefs failed to convert from the 12-yard line and never got the ball back.

Here’s Kelce going off on Cheffers to reporters at his locker:

“This sucks. Alex (Smith) drove us down there, fourth down after fourth down, making plays, making plays. The momentum is getting on our side. and then just get our jugulars ripped out because the ref felt bad for James Harrison falling on the ground. It’s ignorance. The ref shouldn’t be able to wear a zebra jersey ever again. He shouldn’t even be able to work at f**king Foot Locker.”

What do you think people that work at f**king Foot Locker say when they want to slag an employee? “He shouldn’t even be able to work at f**king Dick’s.”

But you feel for Kelce. Some people will tell you that a 60-minute game isn’t decided by one call. You had other opportunities to win the game before that last one. But let’s watch this gross miscarriage of… hmmm, this is a pretty obvious hold.

Not only does Fisher get his arm around Harrison’s neck, you can see his other arm grabbing Harrison by the bottom of his jersey near his butt. Fisher got beat, tried to get away with a hold but the ref wasn’t having it. It’s a good call and that penalty may have cost the Chiefs the game.

But you know what other play may have cost the Chiefs the game?

This Kelce drop in the third quarter that would have almost definitely led to points for the Chiefs.

You know what else? This incredibly stupid 15-yard penalty by Kelce that may have turned a touchdown drive into one that ended in only a field goal.

I’m not sure if Cheffers should work at Foot Locker but if Kelce did, he’d be the worst employee. He’d probably get fired for dropping boxing of shoes that are right in his hands or shoving customers for literally nor reason.
