First things first, much respect to Lloyd Banks for continuing to push Hunger For More 2 even with what I am sure are disappointing sales.

“Start It Up” – Review Of Lloyd Banks’ H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger For More 2)

With 50 Cent becoming more and more enamored with movie trailers than vocal booths, the time has finally come for Lloyd Banks to step to the forefront. With the release of his third album, H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger For More 2), there’s an obvious focus on the commercial side of things now that the Southside Queens native is waving the G-Unit flag by his lonesome. When 50 was reigning terror on the airwaves, Banks was able to keep the core G-Unit fan base appeased with street bangers like “On Fire,” “Cake,” and “I’m So Fly” where getting money and stuntin’ were the main objectives. Now the attention is applied in varying degrees towards the fairer sex. The Boy Wonder successfully caters to both both sets on the boisterous “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley,” the lead single that proved its staying power throughout the summer.

In the military, when the top-ranking official of the operation is rendered incapable of doing their job, the next in line steps up and fills the slot without so much of a eye blink.

Instead of just handing Lloyd Banks his well-deserved Gold plaque for "Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley," Curtis and B Rabbit go all Ashton Kutcher and make the hottest member of G-Unit believe there had been murmurs of him saying he didn't want Eminem to make an appearance on his third album, Hunger For More II.

Banks "The Boy Wonder" might as well call himself Batman this year. For what was destined to be a transitional year for the Unit has turned into the Lloyd Banks show. After two successful splashes in the commercial realm, Banks still wants to reign supreme in the e-streets. Prepare to enter his realm of hypnotherapy. For the next five minutes, Banks will take you to a head-nod whirlwind of rhymes galore. If you hung around long enough to clamor for that "old" Banks, you got him. Taking a cue from Kanye, Banks will release a track every week for "Blue Fridays" until his album releases in November.

I've been having a few incidental flashback moments, riding around to Banks' "Warrior," wondering if he can still create a smash with minimal effort for H.

It's pretty obvious these two only collaborated because their mothers had affections for double L's, but the summer needs heat and there's definitely some friction being discharged from this bomb. Given the song's subject matter, we all can assume a zesty video full of swimsuit models is the works next. Blue Hef continues the streak of rappers seeking to get a buzz by releasing a sequel out nowhere with H.

Say what you will, but G-Unit is managing to keep their heads above water even with their best days behind them.
