Awwww, Orlando Thinks It’s Still Hosting The NBA All-Star Game

By | 5 Comments

Last month, when the city of Memphis was rumored to be <a href="http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/morning_call/2011/10/memphis-to-consider-lawsuit-against-nba.html">considering a lawsuit against the NBA</a> for lost revenue from the lockout, I took a drag from my ivory tobacco pipe, lowered my bifocals and asked my butler, “Shouldn’t Orlando be the first city to go after the NBA because of that whole All-Star Game thing.

Here’s A Story That Will Blow Your Mind

In lieu of my standard quasi-daily NBA labor update, I’ll just say that this season is still screwed.

It's not every day when two giraffe-centric sports stories emerge simultaneously.

Gilbert Arenas Really Loves Planking

As we mentioned earlier, the NBA is less than two days away from taking a seat next to the NFL at the lockout table, and that means that players are going to have to find new ways to keep themselves entertained until a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is reached.

Dwight Howard Has Been Dragged Into The Casey Anthony Case

By | 3 Comments

Jeff Ashton is quickly making a name for himself in the legal world as the Assistant State Attorney prosecuting the Casey Anthony case in Orlando, Florida, which I refuse to call the “Trial of the Century” because I still have faith that a former professional athlete can eventually top this.

Your Ass Just Got Van Gundy’d

The hat tip says Stan Van Gundy looks like a doppleganger of Ron Jeremy, which in turn makes him remind you of Mario Mario, but I think he's got more of a Paul Bearer vibe to him.

Dwight Howard Wants To Stay Put

Even though the 2010-11 NBA season hasn’t ended yet, and even though the league is facing an almost certain lockout with mid-level players (<a href="http://sportsjudge.com/sjblog/?p=909">even possibly LeBron James</a>) already threatening to flee to Europe’s generous contracts and lower costs of living, the majority of the sports world wants to focus clearly on what matters most – Dwight Howard’s free agency more than 365 days away.

NBA Round-Up: The Heat Keep Winning

Before we get to last night's bipolar NBA action, the Orlando Sentinel, which notably played a major role in Shaquille O'Neal leaving Orlando, has launched <a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-dwight-2012-interactive,0,1600830.htmlpage">PleaseStayDwight.com</a>, which takes people to an interactive graphic on the newspaper's website.

Orlando Magic 88, Atlanta Hawks 82 I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to sports, especially the NBA, so indulge me if you will.

StayDwight.com Is Up And Running

<a href="http://staydwight.com/"> Stop me when this sounds familiar. The Orlando Magic draft an amazingly gifted center first overall. He develops over the years to live up to his potential adopting the nickname "Superman." That center leads the Magic to the NBA Finals. Then, at the first opportunity, said center bolts out west to transform into a pop culture icon. The previous four sentences obviously define the career path of Shaquille O'Neal and possibly <a href="http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/tag/dwight-howard">Dwight Howard</a>.

Dwight Howard Dunks In Boring Game

As the Orlando Magic close out their woefully inconsistent regular season, the team's main concern remains Dwight Howard's fondness of technical fouls and Gilbert Arenas' love of being paid $20 million to be horrendous.

Jrue Holiday Could Use A Vacation

By | 34 Comments

<a href="http://www.edthesportsfan.com/2011/04/todays-obituaries-jrue-holiday-1990.html"> Either that or Dwight Howard is just a big bully. I'll usually drop qualifying statements about Jrue at this juncture of the post before I get to the point. This time's obviously different. "Wrong place, wrong time" is an understatement on this play even though he "tried" to stop the oop. All I can say is he's a braver soul than me. I'd probably pull a hot Amar'e sidestep shuffle and act like Howard wasn't my assignment. Howard's onslaught at the rim jump-started a 21-4 run in Orlando's favor. The Magic utilized that surge and capped things off with a 95-85 dub over Philly. Orlando, despite their standing, could be a problem in the playoffs and Superman looks uncharacteristically out for blood. Philly, in the meantime, ought to look forward to finishing the season strong on Wednesday with Miami serving as their first round opponents. It's unfair... © Terrell Owens Related: <a href="http://www.edthesportsfan.com/2011/04/todays-obituaries-jrue-holiday-1990.html">Today's Obituaries - Jrue Holiday (1990-2011) [ETSF]</a>.
