Google Algorithm Screws Innocent Spanish Campground Owner

Mario Giovanni Masia has a problem. He owns a campground, Camping Alfaques, where in the ’70s a horrible tragedy happened and 200 people were burned to death. We know, it’s depressing, hence the adorable kitten.

The problem is that people who don’t know the site and want to Google it tend to find pictures of charred bodies, since Google changed its algorithm two years ago. Masia, not unreasonably, is slightly upset that something that happened three decades ago is currently grossing out his customers, so he’s suing Google to change it.

The problem is Google hates addressing problems like this by hand. But that’s really the thing: in the future, they’re going to have to, even if it does make their jobs harder. Especially if Masia goes after Google Spain again, which he might this week. So, do the right thing, guys; change the results.

Now we have to go look at more kitten pictures.
