Simone Giertz — self-proclaimed “queen of sh*tty robots” — returns with a new sh*tty robot. We’ve already seen her robot which slaps people awake, the one that feeds you cereal (sort of), the popcorn machine helmet, and a robot that lets everyone know they should deal with it. Giertz used the same remote-controlled robotic arm provided by Stuart McConnel for the “deal with it” robot and gave it a knife. Surely that could not possibly end badly.
After giving the robot a knife (capital idea), assistant Fiona Rolander attempts to make robot-assisted peanut butter sandwiches while Giertz tries to nonchalantly read the paper:
“My job is to just ignore whatever is happening. [looks at assistant offscreen] Did you just flash me?”
“Ignore whatever is happening!”
From there, we’re introduced to some of the nastiest-looking peanut butter ever, which prompted Giertz to make a “2 Girls 1 Cup” reference (do not Google that). We also appreciated the xkcd reference, “Sudo make me a sandwich.” Eventually, they switched out the runny all-natural stuff with a new jar of Skippy peanut butter, but the robot was still as ill-equipped for the task as ever.
Now stand back! Peanut Butter Sandwich Bot got to practice its stabbin’.
