Chuck (NBC) — Tonight marks the beginning of one of my favorite TV weeks of the year: when almost every show does a Halloween-themed episode. Just as ordinarily demure women wear delightfully slutty costumes, so too are buttoned-up actresses stripped down and put into iconic wet dream costumes. Mmmm… Yvonne Strahovski as Slave Leia.(Preview of tonight’s “Chuck” here). [See also: Emily Deschanel as Wonder Woman]
In Treatment (HBO) — Season 3 premiere. My roommate digs this show, but I’ve never found psychoanalysis to be all that interesting. Besides, if I’m going to watch Gabriel Byrne, my time is better spent catching The Usual Suspects for the 53rd time.
Thintervention with Jackie Warner (Bravo) — Season finale. I don’t know a thing about this show, but I already don’t like it.
Top Gear (BBC America) — Tonight’s the episode with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz where Cruise takes a corner on two wheels. Just in time to promote the junkyard fire I’m making out of Knight and Day DVDs.
Weeds (Showtime) — Richard Dreyfuss guest stars. Hey, remember Mr. Holland’s Opus? That movie blew donkeys, and anyone who says otherwise should be punched in the genitals.
Halloween (AMC) — When it comes to scary movies, I prefer spooky to slashy: I’ll always take The Shining and The Exorcist over Freddy and Jason and Michael Myers. Rosemary’s Baby doesn’t make my list, though. I don’t know, the scene where Satan rapes Rosemary… I just expected more from a rape expert like Roman Polanski.
