Sky One recreated the opening credits of “The Simpsons” using real people and places, and the result (video below) is both cool and a little bit creepy. Seeing actual people perform the iconic sequence really highlights the different ways we perceive cartoons versus reality: I’ve never given a second thought to little gags like Maggie getting scanned and Bart crossing the street just before Marge speeds through the intersection, but those same scenes are visually unsettling when they’re played out with human children.
Or rather, they would be if they were American children. Since this was made with British actors, those kids were just lucky to get out of the orphanage for a day.
