What’s on Tonight: ‘Voice’ Premiere

The Voice (NBC) — Series premiere. Pretty daring of NBC to try something that might not tank in the ratings. Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, and someone named Blake Shelton will judge singers a là “American Idol.” The catch: they’ll hear the singers without seeing them. The other catch: it’s hosted by Carson Daly.

Glee (Fox) — It’s a ninety-minute episode featuring a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”

Pregnant in Heels (Bravo) — I watched about 30 minutes of the premiere with my girlfriend specifically to see how much I hated it. Verdict: not as bad as I anticipated. I mean, it’s still terrible, and I hated the people on the show, but the final product didn’t quite thrust me into a murderous rage the way I expected it to.

Have Cake Will Travel (Food Network) — Series premiere. This stars someone who was on “Ultimate Cake Off.” I’m going to go ahead and assume that it’s about cake.

Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen (Syfy) — Season finale. I just don’t understand why Syfy has a cooking show. Do geeks eat something besides Doritos now?

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Lindsay Lohan on Leno (not to mention Kristin Chenoweth and Jillian Michaels); Will Ferrell on Letterman; Mark Ruffalo on Kimmel; Larry King on Ferguson; Matt Lauer on Fallon. Full listings.
